Over the weekend, Kanye West updated the world on the release of his sequel album Donda 2.
In order to listen to the upcoming release, fans will not be able to turn to common streaming platforms, and will instead have to purchase access to West’s own Stem Player music platform for $200.
“Donda 2 will only be streaming on my own platform, the stem player. You can download new music from stemplayer.com,” the controversial rapper wrote in an Instagram post to announce the new situation for his album. “You can play 4 different elements of the track: vocals, drums, bass and music. It also has a MP3 player available. We currently have 67,000 available and are making 3,000 a day.”
The Stem Player also seems to allow users to mix music through the ability to split various songs into their component stems, but it does not have a screen.
Donda 2 is currently scheduled for release on Tuesday, February 22, aligned with a public concert in Miami.
