Yesterday, Kanye West announced that Donda 2, the sequel to last year’s Donda, is going to be released next month on February 22, 2022, making its debut on 2/22/22.
West took to social media to make the announcement, sharing a photo of his Chicago childhood home engulfed in flames. Fans and followers were also informed that Future will be the executive producer of Donda 2.
Last month, it became known that West began working on this sequel album shortly after the original Donda was released last summer. Some fans are keeping their expectations in check, though, as West is notorious for album delays.
Donda, named after West’s late mother, is nominated for several Grammy awards, including album of the year and rap album of the year. The song “Hurricane,” featuring the Weeknd and Lil Baby, is up for best melodic rap performance, and “Jail,” featuring Jay-Z, is nominated for best rap song.
