Kacey Musgraves Takes Home Grammy for Album Of the Year

Kacey Musgraves had quite the evening at the Grammys. Not only did she win Country Album of the year, but won in all four categories for which she was nominated.

During her acceptance speech, Musgraves thanked her team, family, label and many more. She also shout-ed out the other artists nominated for AOTY, saying, “Winning this doesn’t make my album any better than anyone else’s.”

The award was presented by Kane Brown, Meghan Trainor and best new artist nominee Luke Combs, who collectively shouted Musgraves’ name as the singer made her way to the stage in a feathery red dress.

“I never dreamed that this record would be met with such love, such warmth, such positivity. It seriously means the world to me,” said a breathless Musgraves. “I love country music with everything that I am and I’m very proud to be able to get to share my version of that with the world.”

The singer also offered up a sweet dedication to her husband, singer/songwriter Ruston Kelly, saying, “I really believe I would have this album if I hadn’t met you and you didn’t open my heart like you did, so thank you so much.”
