Owning a piece of Beatles history is worth a lot of money. How much money? A 1969 Honda Z50A Monkey Bike once owned and driven by John Lennon went to auction a few days ago, and the winning bid was twice what those in the auction expected; nearly $80 thousand dollars!
The Lennon artifact went to auction at the UK’s National Motorcycle Museum, securing the highest amount ever paid for a Honda Z50A. John owned the bike for just a few years, from 1969 to 1971 before being owned by two fans before it went to auction this past week.
In other John Lennon news, a sculpture of 96 people who lost their lives in the Hillsborough disaster was revealed in the Liverpool John Lennon airport. The disaster was the result of fans stampeding during the FA Cup semi-final game between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest.
