According to rollingstone.com, John Legend will be teaching a class on songwriting on MasterClass, a streaming platform where anybody can learn from the world’s experts on a variety of subjects. In Legend’s class he will break down his process from start to finish and give members a framework for finding their voice so that they can write with purpose. He will also be giving member a firsthand look into how he created his song “Free,” that he performed at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards back in April. His class also teaches members how to capture their life experiences and convey emotions and inspire movement with their music. Legend uses hit songs such as “All of Me,” “Again” and “Dope” as he shares how he attempts to structure his songs to tell a story. Legend is quoted in saying, “Songs are core to who we are and are such an important part of humanity, My class will give you the tools to find your voice, figure out who you are and establish yourself with longevity so you can make a real impact through music.” His class is only available via MasterClass, where unlimited access is provided to all 150+ instructors on the platform to members.
