Most craft beer lovers don’t need any excuse to celebrate their frothy beverage of choice, but we’ve found one for you anyway.
Each year, beer weeks celebrate the culture and community of craft brewers across the United States, and The Brewers Association is more than happy to assemble American Craft Beer Week®, each third week in May, which this year starts on Monday the 16th. This celebration, coordinated by the Brewers Association’s Craft Beer Program, is an exciting opportunity for craft brewers to commemorate their art and tradition with enthusiasts across the country.
In 2006, the Brewers Association decided to make American Beer Month (traditionally in July), into a week-long coordinated effort, conveniently timed right before the busy summer beer season. One week’s worth of national activities was found to be more manageable and thus more effective. Plus, the term “craft” was added to the title in order to dial in the focus of the events. This week has become the largest national effort focusing on American craft beer and remains so today.
For more information, social media links and ideas for how to be a part of American Craft Beer Week, go to CraftBeer.com, and be sure and post your events online as soon as you can. You can update them at any time at CraftBeer.com/ACBW. Drink Up!
