The MLB season sees its second half start up this week and before it begins we wanted to take a look at who would be in and out of the playoffs if the season had ended instead of taken a few days off. Let’s begin…
If the season ended today the playoff teams from the American League would be the Astros, Red Sox, Indians, Twins and Yankees. The Yankees and Twins would match up in the American League wild card round and the winner would head to Houston to play them in the divisional round.
In that National League, things are much tighter. The Dodgers would be leading the way as the number one seed with the Diamondbacks, Rockies, Nationals and Brewers also qualifying for the playoffs. The Rockies and Diamondbacks would be facing off against each other as non-division winners in the wild card round crazy enough because they didn’t win their division! The Dodgers did!
The second half of the season begins this weekend and we are sure excited to see what happens. The playoffs would be fun if the season ended today though we do know that.
