On Sunday, February 5th, Harry Styles nabbed the Grammy Award for Album of the Year. As Styles approached the stage to accept his award he broke out into tears, unable to contain his excitement.
Within his acceptance speech he thanked other nominees in the category for inspiring his music such as Beyoncé, Adele, Brandi Carlile and more. He stated, “Man, I’ve been so, so inspired by every artist in this category with me, A lot of different times in my life, I listened to everyone in this category when I’m alone.”
In concluding his speech, Styles said, “I feel like on nights like tonight, there is no such thing as ‘best in music,’ I don’t think any of us sit in the studio making decisions based on what’s gonna get us one of these. This is really really kind … this doesn’t happen to people like me very often, and this is so nice, thank you very much.”
