According to ultimateclassicrock.com, Guns N’ Roses is releasing a Use Your Illusion box set on November 11th. The albums’ original 30 songs will be augmented with two complete live concerts: one from May of 1991 at New York City’s Ritz Theatre and another from January of 1992 at Las Vegas’ Thomas and Mack Center. The box set is available for preorder now, and will be sold in several different ways, the largest being the “Super Delux Seven-CD + Blu Ray” and “Super Deluxe Twelve-LP + Blu Ray” volumes. There will also be two-CD Deluxe editions of each Illusion album, with each one containing a bonus disc of live footage from 1991-1992 legs of the Use Your Illusion Tour.
The two-CD deluxe editions will include live versions of Lenny kravitz’s “Always on the Run” featuring Kravitz, and Aerosmith’s “Mama Kin” and “Train Kept A-Rollin” that features Steven Tyler and Joe Perry with all three tracks being taken from the band’s Paris concert on June 6th, 1992. In total the box set will feature 97 songs, with 63 being unreleased audio tracks and videos on top of a 100 page photo book along with various collectible and archival materials. One of the most notable additions to the box set is an updated version of Guns N’ Roses’ “November Rain.” The freshly recorded version will feature a fifty piece orchestra that was conducted and arranged in 2021 by composer Christopher Lennertz.
Use Your Illusion I and II originally released on September 17th, 1991 debuting at Number two and one on the Billboard 200, selling hundred of thousand of copies in the first week. The two album 30 song collection included several of Guns N’ Roses biggest hits including “November Rain,” “Don’t Cry” and their cover of Bob Dylan’s “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door.”
