On Giving Tuesday, Gucci announced applications are open for its fourth class of the North America Changemakers initiative. These funds are intended, according to the press release, to “support talented students and non-profit organizations that amplify stories and opportunities within diverse communities inspiring solutions for a better future.”
As the Gucci Changemakers site states, “the Impact Fund will grant funding to community-based 501(c)(3) organizations across the 12 Changemakers focus cities for up to $1 million in grants.” It also states that the fund provides preference to organizations led by diverse leaders.
With their Changemakers initiative, Gucci is really walking their talk. The brand promises to “assist applicants focused on critical social impact areas, including social justice and equity, arts and culture; health equity and wellness; and education. In addition, we highly encourage organizations focusing on reducing gun violence, increasing access to voting, and supporting individuals with disabilities to apply.”
Grants for each awarded organization will be for $50,000 and are for a one-year funding cycle beginning in the summer of 2023. Gucci claims to have invested nearly $4.7 million in its scholarship programs to date. Applications are due on February 3 and you can find more info here for scholarships and here for the impact fund.
