In Atlanta, Georgia, hundreds of girls were able to travel from all over the state in order to where their sashes and vests to learn about the issues that they face at the Capitol for Girl Scouts Day. The Girl Scouts also were able to meet with lawmakers in order to further learn about democracy and how bills turn into laws in Georgia.
One Clayton County Girl Scout, Morgan hall, stated that, “It helps you as a Girl Scout to know how to deal with your money and to be more present to the world.” The event also gave girls the chance to work towards their democracy badge.
Meanwhile, National Girl Scout Day is held on March 12th.
