Girl Scouts Challenges Young Girls to Get Outdoors

According to prnewswire.com, this summer the Girl Scouts of the USA is announcing a new and improved, already existing outdoor programming to make sure that all girls get to experience the benefits that the outdoors offers. According to them, when youth spend time outdoors in their early years an enhancement will take place in all of the following areas:  school readiness, social-emotional learning, physical and mental health, and feeling connected to nature and their communities.  No matter where girls may live, the GSUSA has programs for all different environments, including birdwatching in a local neighborhood, visiting a state park, hiking a mountain, or observing and comparing weather changes. Besides enhancing the lives of young girls through experiencing the outdoors, they also have the goal of helping young girls understand the importance of preserving the environment and climate science through these programs in order to empower girls in the future.
