Ghost Wins First Grammy Award

Ghost had never won a Grammy award until Monday night and quite honestly, can you blame them? They’ve only been active since 2008 and there just aren’t a whole lot of pure hard rock categories at the Grammys. In fact, the band had never been nominated for a Grammy up until the 58th Annual Grammys.

The band won their first Grammy for Best Metal Performance and certainly earned it. Their single “Cirice” beat out some very well known names in the industry to win this award. The “losers” of the nomination include Slipknot, Sevendust, August Burns Red, and Lamb of God.

This Grammy win marks the sixth award the band has won since 2011. What’s even more impressive is their win rate when being nominated for an award. They’ve been nominated for seven awards, winning six of them. These awards range from this year’s Grammy to the Grammis Awards to the Metal Hammer Gold Gods Awards.
