Alecia Beth Moore was born on September 8th 1979, growing up in a little old Doyleston, PA. Her mother was a nurse, her father a car salesman. Pink as we know her now, began to perform at clubs in Philly at the age of 14, jumping from band to band along the way in her formative years.
Her stage name Pink came from the classic Quintin Tarantino movie ‘Reservoir Dogs’ (Mr. Pink)
Pink’s first national award came at the 2000 Billboard Music Awards, winning the ‘Best New Female Artist’ award.
“Let’s Get This Party Started” was her first mega hit, receiving lots of airplay in Australia and Europe before hitting the charts here in the good old USA.
