Kelly Clarkson made news recently with the birth of her child, Remington, born on April 12th. Kelly and husband Brandon have a daughter River Rose, and two of his children from a previous marriage. Kelly Clarkson is one of a kind, a 33-year old sensation who’s backstory is worth sharing.
Kelly had a blended beginning, born in Dallas, TX, the youngest of three children that has already been a combination of broken marriages. Her father and mother divorced while she was quite young, so she left to live with her aunt.
Kelly sang in all the Glee and musical events in high school, turning down two full scholarships (UT Austin and Berklee College of Music) saying that she wanted to get out there, thinking you can always go back to college.
Imagine Kelly winning the top prize in the inaugural American Idol competition on 2002? Well, that’s what she did. Do you remember whom she beat out? It was Justin Guarini.
Kelly has earned three Grammys, MTV, American Music, Billboard, Academy of Country Music, and other honors in just 3 years.
