Country music legend George Strait has just released his 31st album, Cowboys and Dreamers, featuring 13 brand-new tracks, including the standout collaboration “Honky Tonk Hall of Fame” with Chris Stapleton.
In a heartfelt statement, Strait dedicated the album to three close friends and longtime collaborators who passed away in 2024. “I’m dedicating this record to my longtime manager and friend Erv Woolsey, my fiddle player and friend Gene Elders, and my road manager Tom Foote,” said Strait. Tragically, both Woolsey and Elders passed on the same day, March 20, 2024, followed by Foote on April 29, 2024.
Strait’s latest release is a tribute to the bond he shared with these individuals, blending his signature sound with fresh, heartfelt stories. Elders’ fiddle work is featured on four of the tracks, adding an even more personal touch to the record.
With Cowboys and Dreamers, George Strait once again proves why he remains one of country music’s most beloved and enduring icons, while honoring the memory of those who helped shape his incredible journey.
