Genesis and Sting have both earned two spots in in Forbes’ list of 2022’s highest paid entertainers. The rock acts have earned $230 and $210 million respectively. Earning $35 million more than Tyler Perry, the next high ranking star from the worlds of movies, television, and music.
The main source of income for each artist were music catalogs, with Genesis selling the rights to their solo and group output to Concord Music group for $300 million in September. Meanwhile, Sting sold both his solo and Police era catalog rights for the same amount to Universal Music Group in February.
Genesis also boosted their earnings with the last 14 shows of their lucrative farewell tour in 2022, while Sting had his My Songs tour that went to 114 cities across the world.
