Keeping It Fun and Remembering Prince

Prince was a musical genius, a mystery man, and a star that shined brightly for a few minutes, only to be extinguished in the night, well before his time. Long live Prince. We are learning more about Prince now, more so than we ever knew while he was alive. Let’s continue that theme and share more fun facts about Prince…

Yes, Charlie Murphy parodied Prince on the basketball court, but the joke was on us. Prince was a fabulous basketball player. At 5’2 he was a pure shooting guard and loved to play when he had the spare time. Those that played against him will tell you that he was a mean person on the court, a real competitor.

Price rarely watched TV but loved the comedy ‘New Girl.’ As the story goes, he emailed actress Zooey Deschanel, eventually agreeing to make a cameo on the show.

No, Prince does not have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, nor is there a statue off himself in his hometown of Minneapolis. Yes, Prince did sell over 100 million records, winning Grammys and about every other award available.

Price was the father of a child with then wife Mayte Garcia, but sadly the boy died shortly after birth. Their marriage did not survive the tragedy.

Prince was of course in his own movie ‘Purple Rain,’ but did you know that he was also in the movie ‘Graffiti Bridge,’ and ‘Under the Cherry Moon.’
