Aaron Hernandez was once a star in college football and the NFL, but things had turned for the worse over the last five years. Hernandez brought it on himself, getting into trouble with the law for the murder of Odin Lloyd, who was thought to be a friend of his. News has come out that this one-time star has committed suicide in prison early Wednesday morning.
As a professional football player, Hernandez was a star for the New England Patriots. Their reign at the top looked like it would last forever with Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski and Hernandez leading their passing attack. Hernandez was not a part of that reign, being arrested in 2013 and was serving life in prison after he was convicted of that murder.
The news of this suicide comes at odd timing as Hernandez was just acquitted on charges of double murder last week. How quickly a star can fall from the top. Aaron Hernandez, dead at the age of 27.
