There are a few former NBA players that are joining up with Ice Cube to put together a 3 on 3 league that sounds pretty fun. The league will consist of eight teams and it sounds like some will be coached by former players. These former NBA players include Jermaine O’Neal, Gary Payton, Stephen Jackson, Rashard Lewis and Jason Williams.
Ice Cube will also have the help and support of Roger Mason, the NBA Players Association’s deputy executive director and Jeff Kwatinetz who is the founder/CEO of The Firm.
The thought behind the league is that many players retire because they can no longer play the tough schedules that the NBA has. This 3 on 3 league will play less games per week and will last 10 weeks starting June 24.
