Flower Power – Songs We Still Love

Flowers are a great gift for a girlfriend, wife, or friend needing a quick pick me up. In music, flowers have also been a great pick up me from the radio. Here are some of our favorite hits that involve flowers!

America scored it big with a soft tune that had a woman’s name double as a flower in “Daisy Jane.” The song was a favorite with dentist’s offices as well.

“Roses are Red (My Love)” by Bobby Vinton is a standard for weddings and days with your parents.

“Sally Go Round the Roses” by the Jaynetts is a song that was way ahead of its time, both in production value and hidden meaning.

“Wildflower” by the soulful Skylark is a great song of joy and sorrow, and actually a testament to women in that time of strife.

“Build Me Up Buttercup” by the Foundations is a perfect example of a song that was catchy, fun, and one of the best 1 Hit Wonders of the early days of pop and Rock ‘N Roll.
