According to hiphopdx.com, Fish Scales, a member of Kentucky rap group Nappy Roots, was recently shot and robbed during an attempted kidnapping in Atlanta. According to 11Alive, the incident happened at Atlantucky Brewing, which is owned by the Nappy Roots in the city’s Castleberry Hill neighborhood around 11 P.M. on Wednesday, August 17th. At least two individuals are believed to have robbed and shot a customer in the parking lot prior to entering the brewery and forcing Scales into his car at gunpoint. He was then driven towards Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport where he managed to escape, but suffered a gunshot to his leg. Scales was brought to a hospital where he is in stable condition. Police later found Scales car located in Hapeville, Georgia, 15 minutes from the brewery. So far nobody has been arrested in connection with the crimes. Fellow Nappy Roots member Skinny DeVille told 11Alive, “I am certainly relieved that my business partner and brother Scales is safe and recovering…that is what is most important, We are certainly also praying for the patron who was shot outside the establishment.”
