In Greensboro, N.C., A non-profit group is doing its part to make feminine hygiene products easily accessible to middle and high school girls in Guilford County. The non-profit, ‘I Am A Queen’, is an organization for girls aged 10-18, and is collecting pads, wipes, tampons, and hand sanitizer to give to Guilford County Schools. The founder of the organization Alana V. Allen is quoted in saying, “So, we just want girls to know that they are worthy, and they can have confidence going into their school systems asking for these products and not have to pay for them,” Their goal this summer is to ultimately distribute 2,800 kits to young girls. I Am A Queen had a drop off event in early June where they were able to gather what they needed to assemble 2,200 kits. The next drop off event will be held on June 24th at the Windsor Recreation Center in Greensboro from 6 to 8 p.m., donations can also be made via the groups Amazon Wish List.
