1. The Gift of Dog Art
OK, it doesn’t get easier than this and it’s really a great gift that any dog lover would adore. Simply put “dog art” into a Google or Etsy search and there are scores of artists who will take a pic and make it into art. Yes, yes, but you don’t have TIME. No worries, get a gift certificate for the site/artist, pop it into an envelope, and voila!
2. The Gift of Bonding
If you’re not familiar with Dognition, it’s a set of test (that feel like games) that can help you better understand how your dog thinks and help you improve the canine human bond. Pick up 2 plastic cups, a pack of post-it notes, a sheet of paper and a bag of treats (aka the supplies they’ll need to complete the tests), plus the Dognition gift code and you’ve got a really fun, unique and special gift that any dog lover will appreciate.
3. The Gift of Treats
The supplies to make homemade dog treats can be picked up at almost any grocery or department store. First, do a quick search for a tasty-sounding treat online. Once you’ve decided on one, print out the recipe/card, pick up the ingredients, a cookie cutter and/or a glass treat jar, and you’re set! (You score bonus points if you pick up the ingredients to actually make them.)
4. The Gift of Doggie Tech
No matter what the dog lover in your life wants to do, yep, there’s an app for that. You can get everything from doggy dating apps to canine fitness and calorie counting apps to apps that keep track of medical history, not to mention a ton of games for dog lovers. iPhone users will LOVE an iTunes card, plus a list of great dog apps they can download. (Wondering what apps to suggest? Check out this list from Rover.)
5. The Gift of Doggy DNA
If your friend or loved one has a rescue pooch, getting them a doggy DNA test is actually the perfect gift. It’s something they’d never get for themselves, but are likely dying to know. A couple of the most popular DNA tests out there are Wisdom Panel and Embark, both available on Chewy.com, which just happens to offer free and fast shipping for orders over $50, so it can still get here in time for Christmas.
