Elvis Presley’s $5.65 Million Honeymoon ‘House of Tomorrow’ is Up For Sale

According to tasteofcountry.com, the Palm Springs estate, where Elvis Presley and Priscilla Beaulieu spent their honeymoon together is up for sale. The couple honeymooned together in the one of a kind California residence that was designed by architect William Krisel. The construction was completed in 1960 by the Alexander Construction Company, with the house originally being Robert Alexander’s personal residence. The builder and his father, George Alexander, together designed and built a series of modern homes in Palm Springs at the height of the Space Age.

The estate is 4,695 square feet and includes four bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. The home has a futuristic concept with pod rooms coming off of the central structure. It also has a floating fireplace, rock walls, terrazzo flooring and more. The living area is circular and has floor to ceiling windows along with sliding glass doors and a built in 40 foot sofa. The master bedroom also has floor to ceiling windows; the kitchen is rounded and centers around a built in stove island that has six electric burners and a rounded range hood.

The exterior has a pentagonal pool, views of the hills, and lush landscaping. In 1962 Look Magazine named the property, “The House of Tomorrow” and in 1967, Presley and his bride were being harassed by the press while staying at the Palm Springs Retreat. The couple managed to escape paparazzi via exiting down a small path at the back of the property, where a limo waited to take them to Frank Sinatra’s private plane, according to Realtor.com. The couple flew to Las Vegas and then paid $21,000 to rent a house for a year before returning to honeymoon there.

The estate is listed at $5.65 million, with Marc Sanders with Compass Realty holding the listing.
