According to cbssports.com, the Golden State Warriors just won a championship with the highest payroll in NBA history, and things are set to only get pricier. Although the core of the team is locked in, four of the five best players of the Warriors are are still up for extensions this offseason. Draymond Green is eligible for an extension on August third and according to sources wants every cent he can get from the deal. Green is set to receive $25.8 million next season, with an option for $28.5 million after that, however, to make more he would have to deny that option and re-sign at 120 percent of his current salary. Doing this would lead to the Warriors paying him $164 million in the next five seasons. Reportedly, Curry wants the Warriors to pay the veterans of the team, as he sees himself, Thompson and Green as a package deal and wants the three of them to remain together on the Warriors, a three year contract for Green would put him on the same page as Curry. However, if Green does not get what he is looking for he is willing to look for a contract from a team willing to supply him with what he is looking for.
