Doo Wop and Motown Museums Across the Country

The Smithsonian in Washington D.C. is the resting place for artifacts and memorabilia, a kind national museum of sorts. Where are the museums for great music? This list will surprise you…

If for some reason you find yourself in the Michigan area, be sure to set aside some time and visit the Motown Museum, located in downtown Detroit. The Motown Museum is at 2648 W. Grand Blvd. and a safe neighborhood to be visiting. Think of what it must have been like to be on this street in the late 50s and 60s, at the very birth of the greatest music sound of all time?

If you love Doo-Wop, there’s the National Doo- Wop Preservation and Museum located in Wildwood, New Jersey. The one-story 50s retro looking building, houses the artifacts and collectables of all the greatest Doo-Wop groups and singers. Trip Advisor gives it rave reviews.

It may be over commercialized, but Graceland is the only Elvis museum you will ever need to visit. Located at 3734 Elvis Presley Blvd in Memphis, the facility does a great job with ongoing exhibits, events, celebrations and key moments.
