Dolly Parton to Star in a Doja Cat-Inspired TikTok Musical About Taco Bell’s Mexican Pizza

Dolly Parton just announced that she will be starring in a TikTok musical inspired by Doja Cat and user Victor Kunda’s exchange about Taco Bell’s illustrious Mexican pizza on the video-sharing app.

In late 2020, the fast-food chain removed the item from its menu, which was the heartbreaking inspiration for Doja Cat’s viral rap shared on TikTok in March. TikTok user Victor Kunda then posted a viral response on TikTok parodying a dress rehearsal of what a Taco Bell Mexican Pizza Musical would look like.

Due to the virality of both TikTok videos, Taco Bell has decided to bring back the Mexican pizza. To celebrate the event, the “Mexican Pizza The Musical” came to fruition.

“I’m making #MexicanPizzaTheMusical with @TacoBell,” Parton wrote in an Instagram post, which shows an image of the musical’s script, written by Hannah Friedman with music written by Grammy-winning songwriting duo Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, with the tagline: “Based on the true story of the Internet losing its mind.”

Parton has always been a notable fan of Taco Bell. “They used to make a little … Mexican Pizza,” the country queen previously said “which is also good. I love that.”

Taco Bell’s musical will be released at 8 p.m. ET on May 26, a week after Mexican pizza returns to its menu.
