DJ Premier Opens Up About Kendrick Lamar Having 10 Beats From Him

According to hiphopdx.com, in a recent sit down with Ebro In The Morning discussing the celebration of rap music’s 50th anniversary, the legendary producer Dj Premier spoke up about how he is still waiting on Kendrick Lamar to release a few songs that they produced together. He stated that, “Kendrick had come to see me, we had sat together to work on some stuff, so it didn’t materialize, but just the fact that he even showed up and came in the room, We had a great time just hanging. I made like ten joints for him and he took ’em all even when I’m like, ‘Which one you want me to give?’ He’s like, ‘All of ’em in order from the way you played ’em.” The five track tape that Premier put together recently to celebrate the 50th anniversary of hip hop, will be a series of ten producer led projects that Mass Appeal has planned to celebrate rap music. Dj Premier used his abilities to bring together some of Hip Hop’s biggest names, including Slick Rick and Lil Wayne on the closer track, “The Root Of All”.
