David Cassidy led a generation of fans into the ‘me-first’ happy go lucky 70s, starring in the television hit ‘The Partridge Family,’ becoming the highest paid performer at the age of 21. He’s had his ups and downs, suffering through financial troubles in 2015, drug and alcohol addiction in 2016 and now news that he is suffering from dementia has come to light.
Cassidy 66, son of Vaudeville and TV icon Jack Cassidy and mother Evelyn Ward, grew up destined to be a star. He played the part well, but this past week, began to noticeably slur his words and forget lyrics while on stage at live performances.
Sadly, dementia has begun to take hold; his grandfather and mother both suffered from the dreaded disease. David confesses that he had begun to feel early symptoms a few years ago, but was in denial.
Danny Bonaduce, his TV brother on “The Partridge Family” has tweeted for prayers and good thoughts for David given the recent health news.
