David Bowie’s “Ziggy Stardust” to Have 50th Anniversary Limited Re-Release

Ziggy Stardust, David Bowie’s legendary persona, has just celebrated an intergalactic 50th birthday!

“Stardust,” the first single from Bowie’s The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders, was released on April 28 in 1972.

To celebrate the milestone, a special edition vinyl containing 11 of the original tracks will be available on June 17, which is nearly 50 years exactly since the album’s original release.

The first limited vinyl will use the same master recordings and artwork from the original. The second will be a half-speed mastered LP.

“There’s been a lot of younger artists who admire the stuff I’ve done over the years,” Bowie said of his own influence in modern music. “A lot of them have been, like, a voice for me so that other people hear about it.”
