Over a million David Bowie fans visited the “David Bowie Is” New York exhibit this year, with a one-millionth fan in Brooklyn a few weeks ago being awarded a few rare collectibles in celebration of a great run. Now more than a million fans will be able to enjoy the “David Bowie Is” exhibit, as the entire show will be placed on a digital platform. Created by the Sony Music Entertainment group, virtual fans will be able to log on and easily experience the entire demonstration as though they were actually there.
After decades of leading rock through glitter and glam, David died in January of 2016, leaving more than 300 items for each of us to enjoy. The online exhibit will feature sights and sounds of his instruments, personal handwritten lyrics, and setlists, personal artwork, and sketches, a diary to review and more.
