Dave Matthews Scores Seventh Number One LP With ‘Come Tomorrow’

Dave Matthews Band is on pace to score their seventh straight number-one album on the Billboard 200, the group’s latest disc, Come Tomorrow. The ninth studio effort from Dave and company is set to debut atop the chart with an estimated 250,000 equivalent album units. How’s this for an accomplishment – Dave Matthews is now in third place for the list of bands that have scored the most number one titles on the Billboard 200!

Dave’s biggest hits have been the tunes “Crash Into Me,” “Ants Marching,” and “Stay.” Did you know that Dave was born in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1967? The Dave Matthews Band began as a house and one-night stand band in the early 90s in Charlottesville, VA, home of the University of Virginia.

In spite of their seventh number one LP, the Dave Matthews Band only has won only one Grammy after receiving 14 Grammy nominations. Dave and the band like to give back, contributing over $8 million to the ‘BAMA WorksFund’ and nearly a million to children charities in the Bay Area of Oakland and San Francisco, California.
