In a Crown Royal commercial for this year’s Super Bowl, Dave Grohl gave thanks to Canada. “Today, let’s thank Canada,” he said before thanking Canada for “legends of music,” then “heroes of comedy,” peanut butter, the ironing board, the paint roller, the egg carton, the battery, hockey, basketball, and football.
Grohl has always had a strong relationship with the brand given it is listed on the Foo Fighters tour rider. He also brought along a bottle of Crown Royal to his 2022 appearance on the Hot Ones YouTube series and even gave a nod to another group that loves the drink. Grohl stated at the time, “Now, I don’t know if you know about Pantera, but they’re the most wicked heavy metal band of all time, And they would do these shots, they call them black tooth grins. And you can make it a few different ways, but it’s basically a little bit of Crown, a little bit of Coke … they go back smooth.”
