Cover Songs You May Not Have Known About

You know what it means to ‘cover a song’ right? It’s when an artist records their version of a song written by someone else. More often than not the original song remains the more popular or preferred version; but here are the Songs you thought were original, but found out later that they were not…

“Tainted Love” we from Soft Cell, but was “Tainted Love” by Gloria Jones.

“It’s My Live” from No Doubt was originally from a British 80s band called ‘Talk Talk.’

“Whatta Man” by Salt-n-Peppa was originally from a Caucasian woman singer in 1968 named Linda Lyndell.

“Blinded by the Light” from the Manfred Mann Earth Band, written and originally on the ‘Greetings from Asbury Park’ LP from Bruce Springsteen.

“Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” from Cyndi Lauper was taken practically note by note from the 1979 Robert Hazard tune, with a few lyric gender changes.
