Courtney Cox is starring in an upcoming drama-comedy Shining Vale, in which she plays an erotic novelist “going through this midlife crisis slash menopause.”
Cox, 57, recently shared how relatable her newest role is to her own life.
“I can obviously relate to being that age where you’re like, ‘Oh wow, I can’t believe I’m right here,’ and (asking) what makes you happy,” the Friends alum explained. “I understand that midlife stuff completely.”
At nearly 60 years old, Cox added that she “can’t believe” she’s approaching the age.
“There’s nothing wrong with being 60; I just can’t believe it,” she elaborated. “Time goes so fast. There’s no question that I am more grounded, I’ve learned so much in my life — what to enjoy, what to try to do more of and what to let go of.”
Over the years, Cox has learned how to embrace her natural beauty regardless of age. She shared about “doing stuff to [her] face that [she] would never do now” to maintain a youthful look.
But now, getting older is more of a feeling than anything else.
“I feel like I’m young,” Cox explained. “I have a lot of friends in their thirties, and I don’t think about it. To me, we’re the same age, until I actually study it.”
