It has been reported that Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty line is putting the pause on its planned community campaign due to fears over novel coronavirus.
The news comes just two weeks after the brand first announced its #WeAreRare campaign, calling for customers to submit their personal stories and Sephora Color IQs for the chance to be featured in a Rare Beauty photo shoot.
On Wednesday, March 11th, Rare Beaty posted a statement to their Instagram Stories to break the news of the postponement and to thank fans for submitting their stories for the community photo shoot.
“However, the health and well-being of our community is always going to be our highest priority. In light of the latest updates and rapidly evolving situation with COVID-19 (Coronavirus), we’ve unfortunately made the difficult decision to postpone our #WeAreRare community call photoshoot until further notice,” the statement reads. “We would have loved to meet some members in person in March, we each have to do our part to limit the spread of Coronavirus.”
Updates on how fans can stay involved are expected in the near future.
