College Football Coaching Rumors Running Rampant

College football season is over halfway complete and there are many teams that are disappointed by how they have played. There are many fans that feel that way and have displayed that displeasure on social media, radio shows, and to just about anyone that will listen. This kind of pressure on schools means that some have decided to move on from their coaches even though the season isn’t over. Let’s talk about what’s going down right now…

Jim McElwain is out as head coach of the Florida Gators. After losing embarrassingly to the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday, the move was made. There are rumors that Willie Taggart, the Oregon Ducks coach, could be headed to Florida to be their next coach.

Florida isn’t the only school with coaching issues. Florida State’s Charles Kelly has stepped down as defensive coordinator of the Seminoles. Jimbo Fisher, the head coach, is safe even in a horrible year in part because of past success and his huge buyout.

Names being floated around as replacements at schools like Florida, Nebraska, and likely Tennessee include Scott Frost and Matt Campbell. Both are having great success at UCF (Frost) and Iowa State (Campbell) and are two extremely young and talented coaches in college football.

For now, much of what is going on is just rumors but we’ll be keeping an ear to the ground for more information about what is going on in college football.
