Yesterday we almost made you drop your coffee over the news that recently departed comedian and humanitarian Jerry Lewis left all six of his sons out of his will. Sadly, yes the good soul who personally raised hundreds of millions of dollars for MDA – has nothing for his sons. He’s not the first celebrity to stiff someone.
Mickey Rooney left seven of his eight surviving children holding the bag, not named as beneficiaries in his will. By the way, everyone went to court over less than $50,000 in assets and monies.
Jackie Chan, thou still alive, has publically told his family that his only child, son Jaycee will not get a penny when he dies; his belief is that if he can’t go out and make his own fortune, he’d certainly be wasting any money he left his son. Ouch…
Simon Cowell, Sting, Ted Turner, George Lucas, Bill Gates and Warren Buffet have all said publically they do not intend to leave any money to their children. Their reasons range anywhere from distaste to passing wealth, to not wanting to ruin their lives with instant wealth not earned.
