CampHERO Girl Scout Program Aimed at Empowering Young Girls in Protective Service Careers

According to wsaw.com, there is a Girl Scout Program in Madison, Wisconsin that has a goal of getting more girls interested in what are considered to be protective service careers. These careers include EMS, Police, and Fire services. CampHERO was an organization founded by Madison College instructor Jen Roman 11 years ago in order to get more young girls involved in these fields. The camp is aimed at girls k-12 and offers hands on training to them from professional instructors. Organizers for the camp explained that depending on the age of the camper, they can chase down a suspect, put out fires, and even apply a splint to injuries. The camp will be running now through July 30th at Madison College’s protective Services Building.
