Budweiser is the latest brand to raise awareness for the COVID-19 vaccines by offering free beer to those who get vaccinated. The Anheuser-Busch beer brand has brought back its popular Budweiser Clydesdales and a puppy for the commercial called “Reunited with Buds,” which posted to YouTube last week and is scheduled to run on national television April 26.
Set to the tune of Queen’s hit “Don’t Stop Me Now,” the ad “celebrates our favorite bars as they start to reopen and reminds people to safely return to them once they have been vaccinated,” the company said. To help encourage more to get vaccinated, there’s also a contest with 10,000 free beers up for grabs.
OK, so how does this work? All you have to do is upload proof of your vaccination (a selfie with your sticker, photo of your band-aid, or image of you at the vaccination site) through ABeerOnBud.com. Now until May 16, or while supplies last, the brand will send vaccinated folks a $5 virtual debit card to cover the cost of a Budweiser. There are 10,000 virtual debit cards up for grabs.
If you’re not a My Cooler Rewards member, you’ll have to sign up to enter. You also, of course, have to be 21 years or older to get in on this deal. And unfortunately, the incentive excludes people who live in Alabama, California, or Texas. But if you live in one of those states, buy yourself a beer anyway as a post-vaccination treat. You deserve it!
