Bob Seger’s Upcoming Concert and His Glory Days

‘I Knew You When’ is a collection of previously unreleased materials from the Hall of Fame Motown giant Bob Seger, released this year. Bob is on the road touring to support the album in this New Year, but no concert details have yet to be solidified.

Robert Clark Seger was born in the Detroit suburbs of Lincoln Park in 1945, and has had in interesting career. Here are a few fun Bob Seger fun facts…

Bob’s dad played a great many instruments in the early 50s, exposing his son to music and encouraging him musically. Then at the drop of a hat Bob’s dad walked out on the family moving to California, leaving Bob and his family to fend for themselves.

Bob credits Little Richard and Elvis as early influences, and he loved the Doo Wop group The Del-Vikings harmony and production.

Bob sang background on a few of the early Eagles singles, along with early Motown songs.
