It’s been years since we’ve seen a dominant Blink 182 album and we have officially seen the band back and better than ever with their recent release, “California.” The album has debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 albums chart this week, beating out Drake’s “Views” release, which has been number one for nine weeks!
This is the band’ first album without one of their founding members, Tom DeLonge, and is their first album period since 2011. Matt Skiba from Alkaline Trio has stepped in admirably and done a great job as singer/guitarist for the band since DeLonge left last year.
“California” has been a huge hit in part because of their currently number one single, “Bored to Death.” In total, the album sold just over 170,000 albums in its debut week.
