On Sunday, Billy Corgan, Alanis Morissette, and Axl Rose all paid tribute to Lisa Marie Presley during her memorial service. Lisa Marie Presley was the only child of Elvis Presley and passed away on January 12th at the age of 54 years old. The memorial service was held at Graceland, and had several family and friends attending.
Axl Rose stated prior to performing “November Rain,” “I never in a million years imagined being here, singing under these circumstances, I do know Lisa loved her family very much, and was fiercely protective of her father and his legacy.”
Meanwhile, Corgan performed Smashing Pumpkins’ “To Sheila.” Corgan also stated previously on Twitter, “There is heartbreak and then there is sorrow. This would be sorrow and on more levels than I can count, Please send your prayers out for her family and children at this difficult time. I truly cannot find the words to express how sad this truly is.”
Meanwhile, Morissette performed “Rest,” a track that was released in 2021 that she said was, “written specifically about those of us who struggle with depression and anxiety, isolation, suicidal ideation and the profound despair that mental illness can plunge us into.”
