Big Tech is Heading For Live Sports

According to nytimes.com, tech giants have set their sights on live sports as the next industry to invade. Both Amazon and apple have begun negotiations for media rights held by the National Football League, Major League Baseball, Formula One Racing and college conferences so that they can add them to their streaming platforms. In an attempt to takeover DirecTV’s rights to the N.F.L Sunday Ticket which the N.F.L is looking to sell for at least $2.5 billion annually. Reportedly Google has offered a bid via YouTube for the rights starting in 2023. Sports leagues are thrilled with all of the interest coming from giant tech companies that have more then enough money to supply what leagues like the N.F.L are looking for. With bigger and better sponsorships from tech companies, the sports industry will be able to further thrive. If everything works out as planned, you will be able to catch the majority of sports games via major streaming services such as apple tv sometime in 2023.
