Best Selling Albums During the Greatest Time

What are the bestselling Rock Albums of all time? This list will surprise you. The artists on the list certainly won’t though. Big name after big name had huge selling albums during their time and these are some of those albums that were selling faster than hot cakes.

Def Leppard’s “Hysteria” and John Bon Jovi’s “Slippery When Wet” sold more than 12 million copies, while Steve Miller’s “Greatest Hits” and Springsteen’s “Live 1975-1985” each sold over 14 million copies.

Simon and Garfunkel’s “Greatest Hits,” “Bat Out of Hell” by Meatloaf, and the Beatles’ “1962-1966,” each sold over 14 million albums. “Dark Side of the Moon” by Pink Floyd, and Journey’s “Greatest Hits’ each sold 15 million copies.

The Beatles’ “White Album” sold over 19 million copies, as did Fleetwood Mac’s “Rumors,” while “Back in Black” by AC/DC sold over 22 million units. 23 million copies of “The Wall” by Pink Floyd were sold; Zeppelin’s “Untitled” album sold nearly 24 million copies.

To date, Billy Joel’s “Greatest Hits Volume I and II” have sold over 23 million copies.
