Just last Monday, Ben Affleck began directing a drama starring Matt Damon as Sonny Vaccaro, a sneakers salesman attempting to get Michael Jordan to represent Nike shoes. Now Affleck and Damon are negotiating the launch for a new production company funded by Redbird Capital’s Gerry Cardinale. Their intention appears to be generating exciting high end content. The Nike movie is being produced for Amazon Studios, Skydance Sports and Mandalay Pictures, however, the new company will also most likely be involved. The production company may take awhile to come together due to the busy schedules of the two actors involved, although it sounds promising. Especially with a six billion dollar company, Cardinale’s Redbird Capital behind them.
