Bella Hadid Embraces No Longer Wanting to Drink Alcohol: “I Don’t Feel the Need”

Bella Hadid has opened up about her sobriety journey, which she started about halfway through 2021.

As part of building her new non-alcoholic beverage brand Kin Euphoric, Hadid underwent a brain scan from one of Kin’s medical advisors to view the effects of alcohol on her brain. She said the whole experience made it “a lot harder to pick up the glass.”

“I don’t feel the need because I know how it will affect me at 3 in the morning when I wake up with horrible anxiety thinking about that one thing I said five years ago when I graduated high school,” Hadid spoke about her sobriety in a recent interview.

Over the years, Hadid has seemed to struggle for the right relationship with drinking. In 2014, when the model was 17 years old, she was arrested for a DUI. She ended up serving six months of probation, 25 hours of community service, 20 hours of Alcoholic Anonymous meetings, and having her license suspended for one year.

“There’s just this never-ending effect of, essentially, you know, pain and stress over those few drinks that didn’t really do much, you know?” Hadid said, feeling like she could very much embrace a new chapter in her life.
