Bauhaus Cancels Remaining North American Tour Dates

According to billboard.com, on Wednesday, August 31st, Bauhaus canceled their remaining 2022 North American tour dates, as Peter Murphy is headed to rehab. The spokesperson for the band said that the dates were pulled due to Peter Murphy entering a rehab facility in order to “attend to his health and well-being.” Those looking for a refund must contact where they purchased their tickets in order to get a refund. On September 6th, the North American tour was scheduled to start with a show in Toronto, before heading to New York, Philadelphia, Washington (DC), Boston, New Haven (CT), Detroit, St. Paul, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, and Denver before a final show that was set for Radio City Music Hall in New York on New Year’s Eve.

Back in March, Bauhaus released their first new song in 14 years titled, “Drink the New Wine.” The track was recorded during the pandemic lockdown and each member came up with their part of the song without seeing what the others had done. The band said in a statement that, “Bauhaus have used this technique in the past to great effect, The title refers to the very first Cadavre exquis’ drawing rendered by André Breton, Marcel Duchamp, Jacques Prévert and Yves Tanguy which included words which when strung together made up the sentence, ‘Le cadavre exquis boiara le vin nouveau’ (‘The exquisite corpse will drink the new wine.”)”
