Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was given some harsh reviews by critics over the past few weeks, but it came out hot in its debut weekend. Even then, the movie saw itself do $170 million at the box office in North America! This number ranks the movie opening as the sixth best all time.
The appeal of seeing the superheros we loved as children was too much for bad reviews, as these box office numbers anyone would love to have. According to CinemaScore, viewers gave the movie a “B.” There are reports out though saying the movie needs to break the $800 million mark just to break even though. Wow!
The movie cost $250 million to make, so this opening gives everyone involved a sigh of relief. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is directed by Zach Snyder.
